Solfa Streams handbook

Layout & appearance

Short, practical help designed for lookup: follow the procedure, then compare the result in your score.

These controls only change how the score is engraved and played back — they do not rewrite solfa note data except tempo metadata.

Spacing

Procedure
  • Spacing section (wide screens) or Layout popover (narrow): drag note spacing and system spacing sliders.
  • When a widow system is detected, Fit nudges spacing so the last system fits on the previous page.
  • Use the reset control beside the sliders to return to defaults.

Rest-only staves

Procedure
  1. Toggle Rest staves in Display to hide or show staves that contain only rests.

Tempo (BPM)

Procedure
  1. Click the BPM readout in the toolbar to set the initial playback tempo.
  2. Select a note or rest, then choose Tempo to add a tempo change from that point.
  3. Inline tempo syntax is T<note-value>=<bpm>, for example T4=84 for quarter note = 84. Supported note values are 2, 4, 8, and 16; dotted values use a dot, such as T4.=60.

Score text blocks

Procedure
  1. Use Text in the Engrave toolbar to add extra verses or notes.
  2. Place text below the selected system or after the final system.
